Tiwanaku Ruins Full Day Tour
Tiahuanaco (also spelled Tiwanaku) is one of the oldest civilizations of the Andes region (1300 BC.-1200 AD.). Their advanced knowledge about architecture, religion, and astronomy made them the most important population center of its era in South America.
Tiwanaku is located 72 km (45 mi) from La Paz, only 1.5 hours by car. Among the most important archaeological remains that you will observe are the iconic Monolith of Bennett, the Temple of Kalasasaya, the Ponce Monoliths, and the Sun Gate. Also, you can visit the nearby museums showcasing artifacts and tools of ancient civilizations.
