On your way, you will visit the cemetery of trains where you can take playful and even artistic pictures on board the remains of 19th and 20th century steam locomotives. After lunch, continue onto Incahuasi Island, on the Salar, an oasis with a unique and isolated ecosystem where giant cacti thrive (up to 10m. or 32ft. high).

RECOMMENDATIONS: For the Highlands (Uyuni – Tupiza)

  • Upon arrival in Uyuni, we recommend you rest for at least 3 hours.
  • In addition, do not eat much, as digesting food might be a bit slow during your first day due to the altitude.

  • Wear comfortable footwear and clothes.
  • Bring warm clothes as the Salar gets cold at night.
  • Drink water, wear sunglasses, sunscreen and sun cap.
